Angela Carroll, MBA, MS, LGPC (she/her)

Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor

Angela’s professional journey into counseling has been shaped by her background in neuropsychology, research, and healthcare leadership. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Virginia Commonwealth University with dual majors in Psychology and Religious Studies before completing her Master of Science in Clinical Psychology at Loyola University Maryland. Following graduate school, Angela spent four years at Johns Hopkins University in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Division of Medical Psychology, where she worked as a Neuropsychometrist (Psychology Associate). In this role, she conducted neuropsychological assessments with individuals presenting with a wide range of conditions, including severe mental illness, neurodegenerative diseases, and neurodevelopmental disorders. She also contributed to research focused on the development of neuropsychological assessment measures. In addition to her work at Johns Hopkins, Angela has experience in private practice conducting psychoeducational evaluations and assisting with forensic psychological assessments.

Building on her passion for improving healthcare from both clinical and organizational perspectives, Angela earned her MBA from Johns Hopkins University with dual concentrations in Healthcare Technology and Innovation and Public and Private Sector Leadership. She later completed a Post-Master’s Certificate in Counseling at The George Washington University, leading to her licensure as a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) in Maryland. Her diverse professional experiences continue to inform her thoughtful and collaborative approach to therapy.

Angela works with adolescents, young adults, and adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, depression, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, emotion regulation difficulties, relationship concerns, identity-related concerns, and life transitions. She provides trauma-informed, person-centered, and gender-affirming care in a warm, collaborative environment where clients, including members of the LGBTQIA+ community, feel respected, supported, and empowered. Angela utilizes evidence-based treatments, including acceptance- and mindfulness-based approaches, to help clients build insight, strengthen relationships, and develop practical skills for navigating life’s challenges. She believes therapy is a collaborative process rooted in curiosity, compassion, and a commitment to helping clients create lives that feel authentic and fulfilling.

When she is not working, Angela enjoys practicing and teaching yoga as a 200-hour certified yoga instructor, staying active through Pilates and strength training, spending time outdoors, cooking, and exploring new restaurants and coffee shops. She is also a Reiki Level I and II practitioner and values mindfulness, lifelong learning, and finding balance through movement and time in nature.
