Ashley Claiborne, LCSW-C

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Ashley Claiborne, LCSW-C received her Masters of Social Work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work in Baltimore, MD and her Bachelors of Science in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Frostburg State University.

Ashley utilized her concentration in clinical social work during her graduate internships at the Office of the Public Defender and the University of Maryland Medical System as a forensic social work intern and a clinical social work intern. Upon obtaining her Master’s and licensure, Ashley began her career at Sheppard Pratt Health System working on the inpatient children’s unit. Ashley served as an inpatient social worker for a year with children ages 4-12yo before transitioning to working with adolescents (ages 13-17yo) on a newly created co-ed mood disorder unit for two years. Ashley then transitioned onto the residential side of Sheppard Pratt and served as the primary social worker/family therapist on the newly opened Life Launch (an adolescent residential retreat) for one year. For the past 5 years, Ashley has also worked for Baltimore County Crisis Response, initially as a crisis phone counselor, and currently has transitioned to the Urgent Care Clinical Assessment team as a therapist. Recently Ashley has transitioned to Pathlight Mood and Anxiety Center and works with adults in the program’s intensive outpatient program, providing intensive therapeutic support through the utilization of both individual and group therapies.

Ashley’s therapeutic approach is one that is based on the belief that a meaningful, authentic connection is the foundation for growth and healing.  Ashley utilizes a personalized approach coupled with evidence-based principles such as DBT, CBT, and other treatment modalities. Ashley’s primary goal is to create a safe, inclusive, and therapeutically supportive environment for every client.  Ashley is also a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and utilizes her personal experiences in enhancing her connectedness to clients both within and allied to the community.

In her spare time, Ashley enjoys reading romance novels, traveling to new places (both locally and internationally), and snuggling with her 20 pound cat. Ashley loves all things animals and makes it a point to travel to an aquarium/zoo in each new state she visits (so far GA aquarium takes the cake!).
