Her research interests include using cutting-edge tools and mixed methods approaches to identify therapeutic process factors impacting client outcomes. Courtney’s dissertation examines the relationship between client’s satisfaction in therapy and their therapists’ culturally-informed skills such as cultural humility and the ability to repair cultural ruptures when they occur.

From training with multicultural clinical practice and research experts in the field, Courtney has gained significant experience applying the Multicultural Orientation (MCO) framework and integrating culturally-informed skills like how to broach topics of race, ethnicity, culture, sexual orientation, and gender identity with clients in sessions. Courtney is passionate about integrating her clients’ salient identities, background and evidence-based interventions to produce impactful and long-lasting change for her clients. She intentionally individualizes each client’s treatment plan and continuously collaborates throughout the therapeutic process to ensure her clients feel heard and understood.

Courtney is from the DMV area and in her free time enjoys spending time with her family and friends, singing, going to live sporting events, hiking, and trying new local restaurants.
