Clinical Psychologist

Heather Bernstein, Psy.D., is a clinical psychologist. Dr. Bernstein works with children, adolescents, and their families to address depression, anxiety, mood dysregulation, and suicidality. Dr. Bernstein utilizes therapeutic interventions grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Children (DBT-C), Mindfulness, and Parent Management Training (PMT). Dr. Bernstein has experience working in outpatient, inpatient, residential, and school settings working with diagnostically complex individuals. In addition, she has specialized training in the treatment of childhood obesity and emphasizes the connection between physical and mental health.

Dr. Bernstein strongly believes in the importance of understanding the individual from a holistic perspective. Dr. Bernstein examines how relationships, behaviors, thoughts, and emotions intersect and contribute to symptoms and their treatment. She works closely with families to create a change-ready environment to achieve the most successful treatment outcomes. She is passionate about educating individuals about mental health issues, treatment, and stigma. Dr. Bernstein values collaboration in the therapeutic relationship and aims to help children, adolescence, and their families meet their potential and treatment goals.
