Laura Lansrud-López, LCPAT
Laura Lansrud-López is passionate about integrating the healing power of creativity and art therapy with the effecgtiveness of evidence-based treatments in the service of recovery, growth, and transformation. She specializes working with grief, loss, and trauma, and is dedicated to helping her clients learn new skills, express themselves authentially, and develop greater insight and self-awareness.
Laura holds a Master of Arts degree in Art Therapy/Counseling from Southwestern College, and is licensed in New Mexico (LPAT, LPCC), Virginia (LPC), and Maryland (LCPAT). She is nationally certified in both art therapy (ATR-BC) and counseling (NCC), and holds certification for clinical supervision in both fields (ATCS, ACS).
Laura has over 15-years’ experience working with individuals and in both home-based and outpatient settings, and has advanced training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, sensory- and cognitive-based trauma-informed treatments, art therapy, sandplay therapy, and children’s mental health.
Laura also has over 10-years’ expereince teaching graduate level courses in art therapy and counseling, and offers clinical supervision and continuing education to licensed professionals in Virginia, Maryland, and New Mexico. Laura has held positions as Secritary and President of the New Mexico Art Therapy Association, and was a member of the Nominations Board for the American Art Therapy Association. Most recently, Laura served as Chair of the Counseling Program at Southwestern College, and was Clinical Director of Tierra Nueva Counseling Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She currently holds a seat on the Advisory Board for Southwestern College and Tierra Nueva Counseling Center, and teaches in the Art Therapy Department of The George Washington University.
