Tammy Villines, PsyD
Tammy Villines, PsyD received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology in Washington, DC. She completed a one-year pre-doctoral internship at Washington Assessment and Therapy Services. Pre- and postdoctoral training experiences included positions at The Stixrud Group, The Center for Mental Health, and private practice of Susannah Hughes, PhD., ABPP.
Dr. Villines has been licensed in the state of Maryland since 2007 and specializes in psychological assessment of children, adolescents, and young adults. She has been acting as chief evaluator for the Evaluation Unit at the John L. Gildner Regional Institute for Children and Adolescents (JLG-RICA) for the past nine years. Additional experiences have included pre-doctoral internship assessment supervision, delivery of assessment related didactics to interns, and extensive work with school and legal systems in the Washington, DC area. Prior to Dr. Villines’ work at JLG-RICA, she practiced in the office of Dr. Hughes in Silver Spring, Maryland conducting comprehensive neuropsychological assessments and providing school consultation and advocacy services.
Dr. Villines has a wealth of experience evaluating clients with a complex range of learning disabilities, attentional and executive functioning deficits, developmental spectrum and psychological disorders, medical diagnoses, genetic disease, and other neuropsychological insults. She has extensive experience working with private and public school systems, educational lawyers and consultants, pediatricians, psychiatrists, neurologists, occupational and speech-language therapists, and educational specialists/tutors.
