Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT is a treatment in which focuses on cognitions (thoughts) and behavior so that clients can gain freedom from anxiety and mood problems. Treatment is evidence-based and for many disorders has been shown to be as effective or more effective than medication. Treatment may be short-term and is always goal-oriented and working in the here-and-now. The therapist and client collaborates on goals and progress is tracked throughout treatment. CBT has been demonstrated to be effective in the treatment of many disorders, including: Depression, OCD, Social Phobia, Panic Disorder, Specific Phobias, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Insomnia, Eating disorders, ADHD, Asperger’s Spectrum, PTSD, and Bipolar Disorder.
