Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a treatment in which focuses on cognitions (thoughts) and behavior so that clients can gain freedom from anxiety and mood problems.  Treatment is evidence-based and for many disorders has been shown to be as effective or more effective than medication.  Treatment may be short-term and is always goal-oriented and working in the here-and-now.  The therapist and client collaborates on goals and progress is tracked throughout treatment.  CBT has been demonstrated to be effective in the treatment of many disorders, including:  Depression, OCD, Social Phobia, Panic Disorder, Specific Phobias, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Insomnia, Eating disorders, ADHD, Asperger’s Spectrum, PTSD, and Bipolar Disorder.
